The signs of vape tongue to watch out for as e-cigarettes raise concerns about a new health condition
Vaping, often known as smoking e-cigarettes, has experienced a sharp increase in popularity as a tobacco-free alternative in the last 20 years. However, this has raised health issues because many people are unsure of the long-term effects that vaping may have on the lungs. Concerns are also growing about the amount of kids drawn to disposable vaporizers because of their appealing flavours and vibrant colours.
A physician at Newcastle’s Great North Children’s Hospital, claimed that an increasing number of young children were getting life-threatening lung diseases as a result of vaping. Additionally, a dentist shared a brand-new phenomenon known as “vape tongue” on his TikTok channel.
Do you vape? is what Dr. Stewart captioned his video on TikTok. Perhaps you have vaper’s tongue. “Vape tongue,” he outlined, is when you start to lose your taste because you’ve been vaping so much, and this is really on the rise because of the popularity of these disposable vapes which have all these ridiculous flavours.
A numb tongue, an inability to taste the flavour of your vape, or even an unpleasant vape flavour are all signs of “vaper’s tongue.” You may not even be able to fully taste meals because it may affect your taste in general. Vaping can also result in a stuffy nose and negatively impact your ability to smell, and being able to smell goes hand in hand with your ability to taste, claims Fisher Pointe Dental.
People “absolutely caning” these vapes since they result in such a significant spike in nicotine and extreme tongue dryness that occasionally taste is completely lost.
However, he did point out that it’s not all bad news, as when you “start to cut down the vaping,” your taste returns. However, he also said that this is “really, really, really not good for your health,” so it’s best to avoid vaping altogether.
The easiest way to get rid of it, he continued, is to stop or reduce back. He added that it may be caused by “dehydration” and that individuals should drink more water to do so. He added, “Use a tongue scraper, brush your teeth, floss, and clean your tongue.”
People expressed their disbelief in the comments section when they read that vaping could impair your ability to taste food properly. One person said, “That’s scary.” Another person wrote: “I don’t have that, but the rest of my mouth peels and is dry all the time. That must be from vaping, I suppose.
